Book Review: Wrecked

Joe Ide’s Wrecked (2018) continues the story of Isaiah quintabe (IQ) as he takes on a  new case. A woman comes to IQ and hires him to find her missing mother. During the course of the investigation, the missing woman’s past comes to light and it brings IQ head to head against a dangerous group of mercenaries. IQ and his partner, Dodson, must come together and find the missing woman before the mercenaries kill them all.

Better And Better

Ide is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers and this book proves it. Wrecked has the perfect blend of mystery, drama, character development, comedy, suspense and thrills. I haven’t read a book like this in a while. It was an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. The cliffhangers were perfectly positioned within the chapters and I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough.

Final Thoughts

Wrecked is a lean and mean detective story with characters who leap out of the page. The prose is lean and the story draws you in and never lets you go. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
