Book Review: The Mighty Thor Volume 3

Jason Aaron & Russell Dauterman’s The Mighty Thor Vol. 3 (2019) is the third installment of the woman Thor. In this comic book compilation, Jane Foster wields Mjolnir and is the god of thunder. There are a couple of story arcs but the major one is the set up for the war of the realms.

This book has some of the best illustrations I’ve ever seen. The style is solid and the frame are designed to keep the reader engaged. The images in the frames are clear and direct. Since this world has a myriad species and characters, whenever someone from another race spoke, the writers used different fonts and/or colors. This prevented the speech from becoming monotone.

Final Thoughts

Since the MCU shows no signs of stopping any time soon, I really hope they use this story as inspiration for the next Thor movie. The main reason I read this book is to brush up on my Thor lore and this book didn’t disappoint, the writers adapted the lore to this storyline in a smooth and clear way. I recommend this book to anyone. I look forward to reading the next compilations.
