Book Review: Revenge Of The Sith

Genesis Of Vader

Matthew Stover’s Revenge Of The Sith (2011) is a novel based on the Star Wars film with the same name. The novel tells the story of the final act of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side. The book follows the plot of the movie, but it doesn’t stop there. We get another view at the events behind of Anakin Skywalker.

Dark Story

I’m a sucker for happy endings. This is my least favorite of the Star Wars stories; The Empire Strikes Back comes right behind it.. I don’t like it because it ends sad. Anakin has to turn to the dark side so the original movies make sense. I dreaded reading this book, but I did it anyways. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the book is impeccable. Stover did a great job in delivering the story, I just knew what was going to happen and I knew I wasn’t going to like it.

Final Thoughts

If you are a fan of tragedy, I recommend this book to you. If you are able to get through it and not cry, you have a cold heart. It’s a sad story told extremely well.
