Book Review: Red Harvest

Genesis Of A Virus

Joe Schreiber’s Red Harvest (2010) is a prequel to Death Troopers. This book explains how the virus came to be. This book talks about how the virus came to be during the time of the Old Republic.Darth Scabrous wants to create a virus to fulfill his greatest desire, but this virus is special. This virus doesn’t just kill, it also transforms its victims into something horrible. This virus needs a plant. This plant, a black orchid, is plant bonded with a Jedi with an ability to control plants. This places the Jedi in danger.

This is the second Star Wars horror book I’ve read. I like the first one, so I decided to give this one a whirl. I was glad I did. The quality of this book is similar to the first one.High quality writing interlaced with the right amount of tension set in the Star Wars universe. There’s not too much gore and the tension will drive you to the end of the book.

Final Thoughts

I recommend this book to anyone who loves Star Wars, Science fiction or horror books. If this is a blend of genres that interest you, I think you’ll enjoy this book.
