James Luceno’s Labyrinth Of Evil (2005) takes place right before The Revenge Of The Sith movie. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are looking for Nute Gunray. They want to stop the war that got started in the previous movie. They hope Viceroy Gunray can lead them to the real person behind the war.
I read this book because I am a Star Wars fan, but I have mixed feelings about it. Even though there is nothing wrong with the book, I know how everything is going to end. The book couldn’t end any other way, if it did, the movie would make no sense; the continuity would be lost. ANd to top it all off, I am a sucker for happy endings.
There is nothing wrong with this book. The story is interesting and the characters are consistent with the Star Wars universe, I just didn’t like the ending. Please don’t let dissuade you from reading this book. Luceno did a fantastic job in keeping the story interesting even though it has a kinda sad, kinda inconclusive ending.
