Book Review: I, Jedi

One With The Force

Michael A. Stackpole’s I,Jedi (1998) is a novel about Corran Horn. His wife gets kidnapped and he turns to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker to get rescue her. Luke is looking to train more Jedis and he agrees to take on Corran as a student.

Force Study

The novel is written in the first person. This was the first Star Wars novel I read from this point of view. It is also my favorite Star Wars novel ever. The reader gets to follow Corran as he goes through the training. This book explains how the Force works and it goes it depth as to what the train of thought a Jedi goes through whenever he uses the force. The book goes over every single aspect of using the force. It’s one of the most illuminating book in the usage of the force I’ve ever read.

Final Thoughts

This book blew my mind. I have never read a book like this one in the Star Wars expanded universe. If you’ve ever been curious about what it feels like to use the Force, this book is the solution.
