Book Review: Choices Of One

Mara Jade: The Prequel

It dices, it slices, it gives more depth and appeal to characters you already know and love! That’s right! Timothy Zahn’s work can do it all!

Timothy Zahn’s Choices Of One (2011) takes place between Star Wars: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. After the battle of Yavin, the Rebellion is in need of a new base. A governor from the Candoras sector comes to the Rebellion and offers them sanctuary, Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie to see if the offer is legitimate.

Mara Jade is the Emperor’s hands. She is on her way to Candoras to punish the Governor and destroy the Rebellion once and for all.

The Usual Greatness

Timothy Zhan is one of my favorite writers. I have read a lot of his books and at the risk of sounding repetitive, the same elements that made his other Star Wars books makes this one great too. The characters feel right, the dialogue is pitch-perfect and the action is reminiscent of the original Star Wars films.

Final Thoughts

I am well aware this review is kinda short. Let me explain why: I don’t want to give away any spoilers and I like getting more of the same. I want for the Star Wars sequels to keep on coming as long as the source material is respected. I expect the same from the books. So, If you love Star Wars, you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading this book.
