Book Review: Aliens

Alan Dean Foster’s novelization of the movie Aliens (2014) is a perfect example of a sci-fi horror story. I read the first novelization a couple of weeks ago (Alien) and I have to say, this story is better than the first.

Pace Of Story

I liked the pace of this story. The major difference in this story is that the action started way sooner in the story. I liked that. I was thinking it might have something to do with the fact that since I read the first novelization, I knew what to expect. I understand a little bit more about casting directors have to go through when selecting parts in the movie. If the actor is too well-known that might alter the public’s perception of the character. I think the same thing happened to me before I read this book. I knew how much of a big deal the first Alien movie was. It might have affected my expectations of the second movie.

Final Thoughts

Please read this book. The way they built the story is a work of art. The complications the characters face are perfect way to build suspense to the big climax for the end of the story. I do have to warn you, there is a little bit of gore in the story, but I don’t think it was too much though.
